MIDDLE + HIGH SCHOOL · PHYSICAL SCIENCE + CHEMISTRY · PROJECTOR / SMARTBOARD
Turn chemical reactions into a game of Hit, Stay… or Boom.
Project Periodic Reactions from your laptop. Students decide whether to draw another element card, bank their points, or risk a real reactive pair. You run one screen. The whole class plays.
No student accounts · Offline after download · English + Spanish · Teacher runs one screen
Game + teacher pack · only $2 more than Game alone · save $1.99 vs buying separate
From Left-Handed Learning · TpT store since 2013 · 4.8/5 across 582 store reviews Periodic Reactions is a new release; that rating is the LHL store, not this product yet.
How it works
One round. About 20 seconds to understand.
- 01HIT OR STAY — Students decide whether another card is worth the risk.
- 02WATCH THE CHEMISTRY — Draw the wrong reactive partner and the table shows the reaction.
- 03BANK OR BOOM — Stay safely — or push your luck for a bigger score.
Fill empty seats with computer opponents. Up to 10 game seats can be students or teams, so one projected game can involve the whole class.
Why teachers use it
Problems it solves on board day.
- One screen runs the activity — you don’t need 25 kids logging into 25 devices.
- Download once. Run from your teacher laptop when Wi-Fi flakes.
- You click. Kids shout Hit or Stay. You stay in charge of the room.
Who it’s for
Middle school
Elements, reactions, review
Whole-class chemistry practice on the projector or smartboard you already have.
High school · Chem 1
Foundational reactions
Chemistry review and activity-series thinking where a bad draw on water suddenly matters.
Also adaptable · Grades 4–5
Secondary use
Simpler element names, symbols, and reaction-story before the chart gets heavy.
Homeschool? TV, tablet, or laptop. English or Spanish per seat. No school login.
Real chemistry, not chemistry wallpaper.
Water vs potassium. Sodium vs chlorine. Acid vs base. Kids see the danger before they hit — then they hit anyway. The boom writes the equation.

FAQ
Quick answers
Do kids need accounts or devices?
No student accounts. One teacher screen runs the game.
Does it need internet?
Purchased game runs offline after download. Preview needs the web.
How many students?
2–10 game seats (students or teams). Project once; whole class can play along.
What’s free vs paid?
Preview = limited web plays. Paid = offline game, no email gate, no web-play cap. Teacher pack = printable companion (~14pp + answer key) sold separate or in Bundle. Free signup item = Demo QuickStart (1-page freebie — not the $3.99 pack).
What’s in Game vs Pack vs Bundle?
Game = offline zip. Pack = printable companion (poster, glossary, exit tickets, ESE/ELL path). Bundle = game + pack ($11.99 beats $13.98 separate).
